Solidarity statement from the National Preparatory Committee to United Mine Workers of America

Dear miners and members of the United Mine Workers of America union You have all the solidarity from us, the National Preparatory Group (Germany) for the 3rd International Miners Conference 2023 in your fight for every job at Warrior Met Coal Mining. We are protesting the decision by the Federal Oversight Board that your union should pay for the lost revenue to the mining company from unmined coal and you have our fullest support in fighting this decision.
This is an underhanded attack on the right to strike and on trade unions. It is impressive how the miners of Warrior Met Coal Mining have been fighting their battle for more than a year. This struggle has our full solidarity. We learned about your struggle at the Germany-wide meeting and unanimously decided to express our solidarity with you and to make your struggle known among the miners in Germany. We promote the common international struggle of the miners. For this purpose we decided to prepare the 3rd International Miners' Conference here in Germany. The International Coordination Group of the International Miners' Coordination has accepted our application. It will take place from 31.08.- 03.09.2023 in Thuringia/Germany and we would be very happy about your participation to learn from each other and to strengthen mutual trust so that we can better support each other in the disputes and struggles. We will report on your struggle and call for solidarity with you and your union. Write to us how we can support you in your struggle.
