Hello, As the main coordinator of the International Miners' Coordination, I would like to inform you about the solidarity campaign organised by the militant miners' initiative “Kumpel für AUF” (Miners for AUF) in Germany and ask for your support for the people of Ukraine.
Our ICG member and trade unionist from the Ukrainian trade union Zakhyst Pratsi has asked us for support for the people of Ukraine who have been ravaged by war.
The Zakhyst Pratsi union is an independent class-struggle union in Ukraine that has already organised numerous strikes and protests.
At the end of last year, its president signed the joint declaration of solidarity with the struggling miners in Georgia and protested against the refusal to grant entry to a participant in the German solidarity delegation in December.
In January 2026, they supported the protest statement by the International Miners' Coordination following the scandalous verdict against four arrested strike leaders in Georgia in January and disseminated it further on the internet.
In doing so, they are demonstrating in word and deed that international solidarity is not a one-way street. The militant miners' initiative “Kumpel für AUF” (Miners for AUF) in Germany has launched an appeal for donations to raise money for the people of Ukraine. They need our solidarity and support now!
Long live international solidarity!

Urgent emergency aid for miners in Ukraine is a matter of international solidarity!
Kumpel für AUF is calling for a four-week fundraising campaign for miners in Ukraine. The International Miners' Coordination informed us of their great hardship and acute and vital needs.
A miner who is part of the International Miners' Coordination with his independent trade union wrote on 30 January in view of the escalating situation after four years of brutal war in Ukraine: "Now it has become particularly difficult ... Our homes are only supplied with electricity for four hours a day. For this reason, internet access is very limited and I cannot always contact you immediately. There is no heating in the homes. The outside temperature is -22 degrees, and inside the homes it is around +8 degrees... I wanted to ask you if there is still hope that you will collect aid for the families of the miners of Novovolynsk? We are placing our hopes in you."
This was preceded by Russian missile attacks aimed at destroying the gas, water and electricity supplies, and the miners had not received any wages since 2025 and were unable to pay their bills. Just a few days ago, several miners were killed in a Russian drone attack on their way home from work.
The miner continues: "It is difficult for me to convey the general opinion of Ukrainian miners. But everyone agrees that we need peace. ... For the working class of Ukraine, any “bad peace is better than a good war”. We have already managed to keep our country and our people independent, and we have not been occupied by Russian imperialism. In the event of peace, the Ukrainian working class would have the chance to recover and clearly articulate its proletarian interests. And the working class of Ukraine has no common interests – neither with Russian imperialism nor with Western imperialism! I would like to take this opportunity to convey our proletarian greetings from Ukraine to all miners around the world. Long live the International Miners' Coordination! Miners of all countries, unite!
We wholeheartedly support this and demand: An immediate ceasefire!
Long live international solidarity!
