Dear miners in Sibanye Stillwater, dear relatives

We would like to express our fullest solidarity with your strike. I had already written to you 3 weeks ago and welcomed your decision to strike. The unionization of several unions is an important step against the division of the miners, for the unity of the labor movement in the struggle against the mining monopolies and their servile governments.

I congratulate you on your struggle for higher wages. In this regard, our struggle program of the International Miners' Coordination says: "Wages are not only too low to live decently on, but they are stagnant or falling. They bear no comparison to the work done by miners. A nominal wage increase becomes insignificant in the face of rising costs of living. For an increase in wages that allow for a decent living in accordance with the cost of living in the respective countries." (Struggle Program of the International Miners' Coordination, 2017 Ramagundam/India) I wish you and your families much strength and perseverance. We will make your struggle known internationally and would be happy if you could tell us about your struggle in between (also with pictures) so that we can publish it on our homepage. I would like to encourage you to join us and to participate. We can learn from each other and support each other. We would be happy if you would participate in the preparation and realization of the III. International Miners Conference in Thuringia/Germany (from 31.8.2023 to 03.09.2023). Best regards and good luck Andreas Tadysiak Main coordinator of the International Miners' Coordination
