Germany: Declaration of solidarity to the women miners of the main gold mine Pueblo Arrecife of the El Cielo gold group company in Matlosana

Dear mothers, daughters and sons and relatives of the striking miners, we, miners' wives from Germany, are following your strike with great interest. Your demands have our full solidarity. We cannot allow our husbands, sons and relatives to have their jobs taken away from them and to be criminalised because they are fighting for their rights, their pension contributions, compensation for funerals and severance pay.

We miners' families do not let ourselves be defeated even in adverse times, such as under the conditions of the world economic and financial crisis in connection with the Corona pandemic. And this has also enabled us time and again to fight great battles that have brought down many a government. For us women, your struggles are always also an existential question, because it touches the future of our children and youth. We miners' women stand up to fight together with miners' women all over the world for a future worth living for our men, children and youth. It is in this spirit that we would like to invite you, South African miners' women, to the World Women's Conference in Tunisia in 2021. All over the world, miners' women have similar experiences and problems, but also aspirations for the future. Let our bond of solidarity shine in the brightest colours, appear in the most diverse forms, become unbreakable with a thousand and one threads. Let it fly in the wind of the coming liberation, hang it on the olive trees, symbols of steadfastness and resistance. Please contact us so that we can share our experiences and support each other.
In this spirit, a hearty "Glück Auf
Miners' Women's AG in December 2020
