Info Letter No. 6 on the preparation of country reports for the 3rd IMC

Hello delegations of the 3rd IMC, Again, we would like to remind you of the country reports for the III. International Miners' Conference. In the Info Letter No. 5 from January 2023, concerning the importance of the country reports we wrote as follows: "The reports on the country of the respective delegations from various states present the special situation of miners, their struggles as well as progress and problems of the miners' movement in its country to the other participants at the beginning of the conference.

... In order to promote an equal process on an equal footing, the International Miners' Coordination Group proposes that the structure, form and length of the country reports should be as uniform as possible. Given the expected number of participants, you should be able to present them within 5 minutes, otherwise it may not be possible to present them completely. Suggestion on the structure of the country reports:

  • Introduction of the country, the dimension of mining and the current situation of miners (their number, division into sectors or branches).
  • Mining of which raw materials using which methods and under which conditions - Impact of mining on working and living conditions
  • International mining monopolies or which international financial capital

In our opinion, the reports should focus on the current struggles of the miners and specific problems to be solved:

  • What has been strugled for, your main demands and what has been achieved?
  • How has the struggle been carried out? What forms and methods of struggle have been developed? What specific experiences of struggle does your miners' movement have?
  • What questions or problems arise concerning the organisation of miners?
  • Who are the miners' allies with whom they could unite?

If possible, the country report should be produced as a PowerPoint presentation so it will be more vivid for the participants and in order for us to publish the country reports on the website after the conference. In order for the country reports to be translated into all languages and, if necessary, processed technically they should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots.
